Sunday roast with beers

There is quite possibly nothing more quintessentially British than a Sunday roast – we’re famous for it. Crispy roast potatoes, fluffy Yorkshire puddings, tasty vegetables and lashings of gravy, all accompanied by your choice of perfectly cooked meat (or veggie option). As the autumn weather rolls in, we can’t deny that we’re looking forward to cosying up in our favourite spots for a leisurely Sunday roast with family and friends.

Here, we’ve rounded up our favourite pubs and restaurants in and around Westminster that serve some of the best Sunday lunches in town:

Blue Boar Pub – Westminster

Yes, we’re putting ourselves first – but why wouldn’t you pick an award-winning pub as your go-to Sunday roast spot? We’ve been named ‘Best Pub & Bar in Greater London’ at The National Pub & Bar Awards 2022, ‘Greater London’ County Winner title in the 2022 National Pub & Bar Awards, and won the ‘One to Watch’ Award 2022, Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs. So, if you ask us, you’re in pretty safe hands – especially when our Sunday roast has been put together by our award-winning chef, Sally Abé, who has years of experience from her previous role running a Michelin-starred pub. Starting from £22.00, think ‘Roast rump of 56 day aged Cumbrian beef’, ‘Loin of Berkshire pork’, or ‘Veggie toad in the hole’, served with all the trimmings and optional sides of ‘Cauliflower cheese’, ‘Mini cottage pie’, and ‘Clapshot croquettes’. If that wasn’t enough, we’ve got a dedicated Bloody Mary menu to accompany your roast as well as a host of craft beers and handpicked wines, and we’re conveniently located a stone’s throw from London’s most famous landmarks for a post-lunch stroll.
